What is endovenous laser ablation?

EVLA uses optic fiber and laser technology. Under ultrasound guidance, the vein doctor inserts a tiny fiber into the unhealthy vein, then uses a small laser beam to heat the problem area until the valve and vein close. The procedure is minimally invasive, and will help the veins in your legs promote healthier blood flow right away.

Is endovenous laser ablation covered by insurance?

EVLA is covered by insurance because this vein treatment is done to address medical symptoms related to the underlying cause of vein disease, known as chronic venous insufficiency. Varicose vein treatments, such as EVLA, address symptoms like cramping legs, itching and tingling, and leg swelling. How does endovenous laser ablation work?

EVLA uses optic fiber and ultrasound-guided laser technology to close off damaged vein valves. A tiny fiber is inserted through the damaged vein while you are under local anesthesia, and a laser beam is used to heat and close the unhealthy veins.

What can I expect with EVLA Treatment?

Endovenous laser ablation is a minimally invasive procedure performed right in our offices. The treatment uses local anesthetic and takes only 30 minutes from start to finish. You’ll be able to walk right out of the office and drive home.

Typically, patients are able to get back to work within 24 hours, and experience very little pain or side effects. After your treatment, we recommend you come back for a quick ultrasound check-up within a week to assess results.

What actually happens during treatment?

First, we’ll numb the treatment area using a local anesthetic.
Then, using an ultrasound-guided laser beam, we’ll thread a small optic fiber into the damaged vein.
The vein doctor will use an ultrasound-targeted micro laser beam to heat and close off the damaged vein.
Now sealed off, the useless vein will be reabsorbed into your body as your blood circulates within healthier pathways.
We’ll give you compression stockings to wear during your quick recovery, and will schedule a follow-up appointment.

Does EVLA have side effects?

Typically, patients only experience tenderness around the treatment site, possible bruising, and/or a tight feeling in the legs. This generally subsides within 24–72 hours of your EVLA treatment.

Is EVLA right for me?

Endovenous laser ablation is a great option for patients with large, poorly functioning veins. Due to the insertion of the fiber, EVLA is best for providing leg pain relief for patients with relatively untwisted, straight veins. What are the side effects of sclerotherapy?

Sclerotherapy may include temporary side effects at the site of the injection, such as: bruising. skin soreness or redness. temporarily darkened skin. These minor issues usually go away within a few days or weeks. Rarely, some side effects may take up to a month to completely disappear.

Renew Vein & Vascular (Dr.Azizi) we're very knowledgeable & professional at all times. And the new minimally & non-invasive procedures they can do for varicose vein's, are pretty state of the art! I'm sure that when i'm able to move forward, I will be going back to them for their minimally invasive procedure. Thank God I went to see them for a "consult" they even did an ultra sound (and i believe it was a promo no charge visit ) . I was sooo  worried i might have clots, but NOPE! I didn't have any clots, AND now I have a the knowledge about the NEW modern vascular procedures available, NOT the OLD School surgery that had me too afraid to even think about it!
